The Younger/Elder Series

Probably the most fun I've had as a writer has been in creating the Younger/Elder series. I don't know what it is about these two characters (along with the occasional visit from their crusty Irish Barkeep) that I like so much, but it always feels like a reunion with long-lost friends whenever they show up on my doorstep, eager for another animated conversation.

In real life (IRL), I have found myself at times fulfilling the role of the Younger, especially as I recall my years of friendship with George Mercado, who certainly qualifies in my estimation of deserving the term "mentor". And increasingly, as I continue to develop my own fair share of grey, I find myself -- somewhat bemused and amused -- to be the Elder.

If I had my druthers (as my Scottish mother would say), I would like to always be a bit of both Younger and Elder, a learner who with intentionality passes on what has been learned to date.

And as clichéd as this may sound, I hope you will enjoy reading these as much as I enjoyed writing them!
