Speaking of Synchro-Prayer

Neil McKeever, who often comments here and whom I've known since 1990, emailed me moments ago with a very urgent prayer request:
Two of Neil's sister-in-law's have had cystic fibrosis for most of their lives. The oldest sister is in extremely serious shape, needing but not able to have both lungs replaced.
We all just finished some thoughtful, encouraging, and heart-felt synchro-blog posts on the subject of prayer. Now, let's band together on behalf of a sister in Christ, a wife, and the mother of small children, who is in desperate need of Divine intervention.

Neil has requested that only his name be published online, and I respect the family's desire to not have a circus around them, so please just pray for Neil's sister-in-law. God knows her name.

Thanks, everyone!

God I pray for Neil's sister in law that you bring healing to her body and that you bring peace to the family - show yourself present in their lives. Amen

Father, touch Neil's sister-in-law and heal her: of the disease, of the emotional pain it brings, of the doubt. Touch her with healing and hope. Not for our sake, Father, no, not for our sake, but for your name’s sake. Show your glory. Do it on account of your merciful love, do it on account of your faithful ways. Amen

Father, you know this need so much better than I.. it was you who formed these beautiful gals, loved them every day of their lives, watched them grow, and shed tears when you saw them in pain. Draw near to them now in the power of your coming kingdom.. grace them with the presence of your healing Spirit. May the blood that brought us new life renew their physical bodies. Come with your mercy and grace lord and touch them inwardly for the sake of Jesus...

Lord I pray that you bring healing to Neil's sister-in-laws body. I pray that you give the whole family peace and strength, that you will comfort those little children. Guide the medical staff. Bring a miracle here Lord. Amen

Last night, as we were driving home from the hospital, my other half said to me "Where are the people from her church? Why aren't they up here praying with her?"

Later that evening I checked and saw this post and thought to myself this is the church, and they are praying for her.

I don't want to pre-empt Neil with an update without asking him first, but I would ask you extend the prayers to the whole family - her husband and their two children.

Thanks.

Thanks for all your prayers; numerous people have also emailed me with their prayers, as well.

Neil sent me another update last night, and it's STILL a very serious situation, but I don't want to give any details until I have permission from Neil.

Bottom Line: please continue to pray!!

Good Evening All,

Well, I have good news and I have bad news.

The good news is that my sister-in-law has been healed!!!

The bad news is that the Lord decided to heal her by taking her home last night just before 7pm.

Well, I guess it is bad news for everyone that is still here.

I want to thank you all for your prayers. I have read them every night since Rob posted this for me.

Her entire family is here in Victoria staying at one house so there is always someone to laugh or cry with.

My wife and my sister-in-law were particularly close. They had an internet based chocolate business together. They had many wonderful times together filling chocolate orders that were delivered all over North America. I have always said that the chocolates was just an excuse for them to get together.

My sister-in-law's spice for life was inspiring. She was always upbeat no matter what her body was trying to do to her. She was not afraid to tell it like it was.

Please continue to pray for her husband and two children. The adjustments they are having to make are simply, yet utterly overwhelming.

Rob, I want to thank you again for posting this. You are a true friend.

Blessing,

Neil
