LOL-
Rob, I remember vividly the time as an older teenager (sometime in the early 70's) when I figured out that the lyrics to a Sinatra song I was hearing on TV were about anticipating *sex*. It was a mixture of shock and "Well, of course!"

I've never really censored what my kids listen to- although I have made a point of trying to ask intelligent questions about the music. I think they're tired of me asking "What's he saying there?" Thank goodness for A-Z lyrics universe. I missed the 80's for various reasons. My daughters have introduced me to Tool, and I like them.

Tool? Like in, fixing the car?

My kids have introduced us to emo-screamo (as they call it). As a former heavy metal/punk kinda guy, it wasn't shocking as much as it was an indicator that my musical tastes are more... expansive... than my college years.

Although I'm still prone to cranking up the stereo when I hear Guns N Roses or Van Halen (and I've never liked Barry Manilow, so I guess I'm safe from satanic musical influences). :)
